Airline recruiters can now select pilots by predicting the candidates that will safely and successfully fulfill the different requirements of the role. The recruiter can now assess the specific abilities, competencies and the personality required by pilots early in the recruitment process with the use of psychometric assessments. Building on existing research cut-e developed a new competency model that can help recruiters to select pilots who can cope with the tasks before, during and after each flight, who can manage the crew and can ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members. It is through this approach that the pass rate for pilot assessment centres can increase by 8% and by 11% for the simulator evaluation – yielding a positive return on investment.
